So for my final what I want to do is
photograph body parts. Which sounds totally weird, but I kind of
just want to focus on the parts of the body that don’t get a lot of camera
love. Like freckles and shoulder blades and knee caps. There are so many different
ways that I could do this but I think I want to accomplish it by taking people and
just photographing the different ways they bend their knees or toes when their
doing something aimless. I don’t want anything to be too posed so I’ll have to
really focus on my background. The focus
of the background can either entirely be the body part or also some kind of
darker color. I want all of my pictures to be darker because I think that the
way most body parts are portrayed are in a very sunny kind of way and I want my
pictures to be a little more shadowed. I also think I’m not going to strictly
use people- there are so many body parts that people forget about in the entire
world that I plan on looking around and scoping out what my work best. I want
to focus on legs and feet specifically. And shoulders. Not for any specific
reasoning, but mostly because I feel like they get neglected the most. Like,
who wants to look at pictures of toes? Anyways, I like the idea of body parents
that aren’t strictly eyes, lips, smiles, etc. I want to move away from the face
and focus on the other things like collar bones and knee caps. There is so much
more potential in both of those things. I might make some images of arms, but I
think for the most part that legs and shoulders and feet will be my main focal
points. I just like the idea that there is more to a person than just their
face and not a lot of people look at it like that. Looking at freckles has
always been something that’s intrigued me and I want to bring that up too. They’re
beauty marks and that’s something that totally gets forgotten because people
are always like, yeah no I hate them. I like freckles. So there’s that. This is
probably a super weird proposal, but besides messing around and photographing
light posts and such, this is my best and favorite idea.
