This is a selfie I made at the Spikes baseball game last Tuesday. I made the photo because I like to have contact ID pictures for my contacts. I like to have pictures with my contacts in order to have at least one memory captured of our friendship. The photo is intended only for myself. I do not intend to post it for a larger audience. To me, the photo says "New Friendship." Most pictures I make for contact IDs are in early stages of friendship, so every time I see the photo I remember an early memory we made together. It is fun to compare old memories to recent ones with friends I have had for a while. I think contact ID pictures also add character to my contacts. For people without photos, their contact seems blank as if it is missing something.
I really love the picture, and I love your thinking behind contact photos even more. You're completely right on how blank and incomplete a contact looks without a photo assigned. I feel like contact photos or selfies have more meaning than normal selfies you keep in your phone because they serve as identification of that person.

DeleteI think that's a cool idea to have a captured memory with every one of your friends. And once you've been friends for a while you can look back at the contact photo and remember when you first became friends and how much your relationship with them has changed since then.
ReplyDeleteThat is a really cool idea, I do something similar but I don't use them as contact photos. It really gives the photos a cool background story and will always remind you of how it started. I also really like the lighting looks, it really puts an emphasis on you guys. The contrast between the color of your clothing and the seats behind you really makes you guys pop, I think that really helps make you guys the focus of the photograph.

ReplyDeleteI remember going to the Spike's game only I was one of those five people that didn't sit with the rest of our pride but now this picture makes me regret it. The sky looks so cool in the background!

ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what I do too when I add people into my contacts! It just makes them seem so much closer than just a couple of initials in my phone!
