Emma Holland- Selfie

Most Recent Selfie

I took this selfie just before I left for Penn State with my little sister, Sophie. The day that the selfie was taken was Sophie’s preschool graduation. At her school, they had a bunch of festivities after the ceremony that included balloon animals and face paint. My family had left to go back to work or other obligations, and Sophie was going to ride home with me. She wanted a rainbow Butterly painter on her face so bad, and when we got up to the front of the line, the woman asked if I wanted something on my face to “match” my sister. Of course, I said yes, I secretly wanted my face painted too but I was too afraid to ask, considering I was the only eighteen-year-old in the line of 4-5-year-olds. Sophie’s reaction was priceless to my face painting, which is why I wanted to take a selfie to remember the fun afternoon.

My first response to this is that it is so cute. It seems to me that you guys are extremely close. That is awesome that she graduated preschool the same year you did in high school. I am sure you miss her and that she miss you. Maybe she will come visit you soon!!

  1. This is adorable! The bond that you guys have must be super special. I have a little sister of my own and she is the world to me. It's so funny because whenever she gets her face painted, I also want my face painted but I'm too afraid to say anything haha. This picture is absolutely priceless!

  2. This is really cute, I like taking photos to help me remember get memories like this one. I like having that reference photo to bring up a memory. This photo really has a good meaning behind it and I think that is great, a lot of pictures don't have stories like this behind them. I really like how it has a simple background so it really puts an emphasis on you and your sister.
