Natalie Schield Arts Fest

This is Marc, along with his artwork. Each piece of his work is sea and space fused to form beautiful artwork out of recycled bottles, oils and acrylics, and fiber used from his home, Hawaii. He promotes sustainability and encourages his audience to do the same. After talking to Marc for around an hour, his personality shows through the work. He wasn't sure if I can include this is my writing, but gin and tonics is how he got his artwork to look the way it does. He signs his name on the side of each of his pieces, so that buyers of his work can hang them up any way they want to view the paintings. Each vibrant color stood out in different ways, creating feelings of excitement. The flavor of color gives each viewer a craving towards a specific piece. Perfect circles on each piece were crafted by his thumb! Each piece was 3D and he encouraged people to touch each painting. The built up glass and fibers created a texture not all paintings have.
On the other side of his tent, Marc sold something completely different from his other pieces. Every abstract painting did not compare to the owls he sold on small canvases. 100 percent of the proceeds from his paintings of owls were donated to the endangered Hawaii owl.
At Marc's tent there wasn't one single piece I could focus on. Everything was appealing, and the meaning behind each of his pieces left me wanting to know more. He plans to come back next year, and I definitely plan on stopping back. After I left from speaking with him, he told me he'll always remember me as "princess."
