Garrett Hollowell
I made this selfie of my friend Preston and I at Seneca Rocks, WV. We had already finished our 3 day long hike along the North Fork trail in the Monongahela National Forest and decided to climb Seneca Rocks which was by where we ended and was the big tourist thing. I took the photo because once we had summited the rocks I felt really accomplished and wanted the photo of myself up there as proof that we made it. I normally never take selfies unless it's for snapchat, so this was more so for myself and my own confirmation of making it to the top, rather than for Instagram. The hike up to the rocks was especially rough for our group (there was 5 of us), so after having already hiked 20 miles, this straight up a mountain hike was exhausting. Once we got to the top of the mountain and climbed to the top of the rocks though, the wave of excitement, relief, and pride was so great, I had to make a photo to remember it as best I could.

I personally did not like reading this article very much. I found the paper to go from one topic to a completely different one without much ...
My first reaction to this photo is the amazing view! The green trees, the mountains, and the valley below all seem picture perfect. You and your friend sitting on the rocks add to the moment. I feel that humans don't always appreciate the pure beauty of nature, but this picture shows you two soaking in all the nature you can get. The story behind it makes the photo even better!
ReplyDeleteThe first thing my eyes are drawn to, is your doughnut hat! Then I noticed the beautiful rocks you were sitting on. The view is breathtaking. The view is incredible! I love how you capture the sense of accomplishment in your face and in Preston's pose.
ReplyDeleteThis photo caught my eye because the mountains look like they go on forever. There are so many vibrant green trees all surrounding a small valley at the bottom. Also, the photo is even better because you really captured the moment of you and your friend at the top of the mountain and your excitement.
