( Laurent, 3) When you someone is a photojournalist they are not allowed to manipulate there photos. People still gave McCurry a hard time even though he called himself a visual storyteller. Being a visual storyteller means there is no rules or regulations that you must follow. So there for McCurry was just manipulating hi photos to meet his eye. As more and more people began to see them, they met there eyes too. If we put this into reality, everyone manipulate there photos. When you are getting ready to take a photo, you always make sure the background is the way you want it, and if its not then we move to make the object in to back disappear in the object. , the subject is looking in the direction they need to be, and make sure the lighting is perfect. Everyone does this stuff before the photo is shot. So what makes the difference if he waits till after the picture is taken to edit it? Nothing it wrong with that. Everyone has there own view on what a picture should look like. So a little editing here and there is no big deal. "If you like the desktop wall papers, then you'll love Steven McCurry" ( Mukherjee, para 1) Many people like McCurrys' work because of the bright colors that stand out and catch peoples eyes. In my opinion McCurry doesn't manipulate his photos because he wants to break the rules, he doesn't it because he wants people to see the picture from his point of view. I think he was not in the wrong for manipulating his own photos. They are his photos and he can do want he wants with them. As long as he's not breaking the law/rules, I don't see a problem in what he doesn't. I like his pictures manipulated in the way he wants them to be.
